Back in 2009, with my friend we decided to come to Iceland one day. The day finally came during the summer 2012

Þingvellir

Continental plates meets here. You can clearly see that by looking at the cracks in the rocks.

Geysir & hot springs

Iceland is full of places with geothermal activity. The most popular one is located within so called “Golden Circle”.

Gulfoss waterfall is the next thing you can find in the Golden Circle area. From here, you can pick the Kjölur route that goes through the interior.

Hveravellir

Oasis with hot springs, located somewhere in the middle of Kjölur route. My definition of vacation.

66 north

We kept going north until we reached the furthest point on the island.

Dettifoss

And another waterfall… you should get used to them here!

Krafla

Place with strong geothermal activity and one of Iceland’s goethermal electricity.

White night

This pic was taken at 21:57. And it didn’t got much darker until morning.

Lava fields

Black fields of frozen lava, another thing you won’t see in most parts of the world.

Askja

Another volcano, last erruption - 1961. Below are two lakes in its caldera.

The big, blue one further away is one of the deepest lake on Iceland.

Vatnajökull, Kverkfjöll

Svartifoss

Guess what… a waterfall! But this one is special, just look at it, amazing! Isn’t it?

Ice lagoon

Somewhere near vik

A lot of these little birds called Puffins lives here! (this kid got there just accidentally :) )

Plane wreck

Geothermal electricity

On our way back, we were close to another electricity. I think I just like steam going out from the ground :)
